Using AssetCompass from Claude

AssetCompass works as a connector in Claude. Once it's connected, you can ask Claude about your inventory and have it make changes for you: look up who has a device, add assets from a photo of a receipt or a desk full of hardware, or reassign equipment when someone changes teams.

The connector is included on every AssetCompass plan, including Free. The AI work runs in your own Claude account.

Connect It (2 Minutes)

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it AssetCompass and paste this URL:https://nhxdvzdfiusialdmpdxd.supabase.co/functions/v1/mcp
  3. Claude opens an AssetCompass sign-in page. Sign in with your AssetCompass account and approve access.
  4. Start a new chat and try: "How many laptops do we have?"
Don't see Add custom connector? Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan, and on Team and Enterprise plans an owner may need to add them for the organization. Check Claude's help center for the current details.

Things to Try

  • "Which warranties expire in the next 90 days?"
  • "Who has the MacBook with serial C02XK1ABCD?"
  • Attach a photo of a receipt or packing slip: "Add these to AssetCompass."
  • Attach a photo of a desk: "This is Priya's setup. Add everything and assign it to her."
  • "Check the Dell with asset tag IT-0042 back in. It's going to the repair depot."

Claude checks for duplicates before it creates anything and shows you what it read from a photo, so you can correct a serial number before it's saved.

What It Can and Can't Do

  • Admins can add, edit, and assign assets. Viewer and Finance roles are read-only through Claude, the same as in the app.
  • Your plan's limits still apply. On Free, Claude can't add assets past 25 in service, and it will tell you when you've hit the limit.
  • There is no delete. To take a device out of service, Claude sets a retired status such as Donated or Destroyed, which keeps the record for your audit trail.
  • If you belong to more than one AssetCompass organization, the connector works with one of them at a time.

Privacy and Disconnecting

When you ask Claude about your inventory, the records it needs are sent to Claude and handled under your own agreement with Anthropic. AssetCompass only gives Claude access you'd have in the app yourself. See our Privacy Policy for details.

To disconnect, remove the connector in Claude's settings, or go to your AssetCompass profile and choose Disconnect under Connected apps.
